Los Hervideros
A great natural spectacle can be found just a few kilometers South of El Golfo, just to the West of Yaiza: Los Hervideros (or the Boiling Pots).
These lava caves and bizarre rock formations were created as the lava flowed down from Timanfaya and met the might of the Atlantic Ocean to form this truly marvelous landscape. For hundreds of years the waves have pounded into these impressive lava rock formations, cathedral like caves, lava tubes and blow holes.
A small mazelike path leads over a lava plateau to balconies and viewing points, which were created by César Manrique.
Los Hervideros will leave a lasting impression and offers many great opportunities for pictures. From these balconies visitors can almost feel part of the caves and really feel the explosive power of the mighty Atlantic at first hand.
You will enjoy this great sight and best of all … it´s free!!!

June on Lanzarote
Th
e warmer time of the year has now arrived (even though the winter didn´t seem that cold) but, we are certainly happy to celebrate the coming of summer.
To make sure we move into the high season with as few problems as possible, we have carried out all our gear servicing and added a few new bits and bobs as well. Just in case you didn’t know, the 5th of June is “World Environment Day” – so we thought it would be a good idea to clean one of our Dive sites – a so called “dive site service”.
Whilst on the surface this month you can see the Alfombras de Sal (Carpets of Salt). These pictures which are made from coloured salt are created for the feast of Corpus Christi and takes place in Arrecife. Some of these pictures can be up to 10m long and 4m wide well worth seeing.
Bring on the Sun!
Regards, your Daivoon Team.
